Doug Henderson is a real-world, from-the-trenches, professional photographer and graphic designer. His work has been published in Newsweek, Newsweek Japan, The New York Times and the National Inquirer. His client list includes ABCnews.com, McDonald's Restaurants and Riverbend Books. He has worked in the US, Canada, the Yucatan Peninsula, South Africa, Ghana and Côte D’Ivoire. He has shot several posters, three book covers and over a dozen magazine covers. His work appears in three museums and several private collections. His work was the recent subject of a one-man show at Apertures Gallery in Tulsa; "Light and Death". In 1995 he began teaching a night photography class for Tulsa Technology Center. Then, as an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop, Doug began teaching a Photoshop class. But he unable to find a textbook that directly targeted the needs of his students. Most were too indepth and indecipherable to newcomers. All were too boring. So based directly on what his students told him they wanted to learn, Doug wrote Photoshop Now, then a sequel,More Photoshop Now, then Photography Now, then Digital Photography Now. At the request of Adobe's education department, Doug has also written a textbook for middle school students on Adobe Elements titled Imagers. Douglas Henderson is a native born Tulsan, a family man married for 30 years with two college age sons. He lives in a home he designed and built in a rural area outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma. |
